ABOUT ROC
The Brand
ROC (pronounced “rock”) was founded in Sydney, Australia, in 1990 by brothers David and Ian Cull. Created as a fashion-forward alternative to traditional footwear, the brand was shaped by a love of street style, music and the people who influence culture.
From the beginning, ROC has been both a creative outlet and a source of inspiration. Music remains an enduring part of its identity, woven into the communities and subcultures that inspire each collection.
Today, ROC approaches footwear design with the same deliberate mindset that has shaped the brand from the outset. Combining premium full-grain leather, skilled craftsmanship and distinctive silhouettes, ROC creates collections that balance progressive design with timeless appeal.

The History
The Cull family’s footwear heritage dates back to the late 1800s in Staffordshire, England, where bootmaking skills were passed down through generations. In 1883, the family brought this tradition to Sydney, Australia.
More than a century later, David and Ian Cull carried that heritage forward by founding ROC in 1990.
In August 2026, ROC became part of Munro Footwear Group, another family-owned Australian business with a generational passion for footwear. ROC’s fashion-led designs and much-loved children’s styles complement the group's portfolio of nationally recognised brands.
The Product
ROC creates durable, enduring footwear designed to remain relevant beyond a single season. Its slow-moving collections prioritise purposeful design over short-lived trends.
Selected core styles are also available in vegan materials, offering customers an alternative without compromising on style or performance.
